As per the CBSE guidelines the CCE , Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation refers to a system of school based evaluation of students that covers all aspects of development. The scheme is thus a curricular initiative, attempting to shift emphasis from testing to holistic learning. It aims at creating good citizens possessing sound health, appropriate skills and desirable qualities, apart from academic excellence. It is hoped that this will equip the learners to meet the challenges of life with confidence and success. The student shall be tested for both scholastic and co-curricular excellence.
The academic session is divided into two terms:
First term : April to September
Second term: October to March
The students shall be tested on the basis of the following:[2011—13]
Formative Assessment : 40% weight-age [20%+ 20%]
Summative Assessment : 60% weight-age [30%+30%]
The students shall also be assessed in the co-scholastic areas. The Co-scholastic areas include:
1. Life Skills (Critical thinking skills, Social skills and Emotional skills)
2. Attitude & Values (towards teachers, schoolmates, school programs and the environment
3. Health & Physical Education.
4. Literary and Creative Skills
5. Scientific skill
6. Aesthetic skills
7. Performing Arts
8. Clubs (Eco club, Health and Wellness, etc.)
